Overview

One of the big issues I see with the hybrid, with the average golfer, is trying to help this thing up in the air and getting back this way, as opposed to driving this down and through. Really brushing that grass, almost like an iron.

So what the drill is called is the Lead Leg Forward, but we're going to add a twist - and by that I mean that trail leg is going to twist into this finish, meaning that we didn't fall back.

The Drill

For the drill itself, I want you to take probably half backswing, half follow through, and there's my finish. You’ve gotta go down and brush that grass.

You're not trying to kill it, you're just making good contact and really creating this with your lower body.

So let's give it a try. Super solid, dead straight, nail my heel away.

Now let's get that same feel for a full swing. And what are we feeling there? We're feeling this pressure into this foot, and then we're getting to here, brushing that grass.

Same type of feel - solid, dead straight.

Try that Lead Leg Forward drill for better hybrid contact.
