Wrist Conditions & Grip Functionality

I'm going to take a tee, and I'm going to put it in the fold of my glove. Put this in here, nice and tight.

First, we'll talk about wrist conditions because I want you to understand how this works.

So when you get a functional grip, when we spend a lot of time caring for how you put your hands on the club nicely, it's your attachment to what you're swinging - and I'm swinging a hybrid I love.

Take a look at what's happening with this tee right here. When I come down and transition, watch the tee.

If I start to let the tea point skyward, that clubface is opening, that's a mayday alert to my brain. I have to stand up and I have to roll my hands in the last moments of a swing.

A golf swing is about one to 1.3 seconds long - if you're responding in that little teeny window of time, that 0.2 or 0.3 seconds there, you are never going to be reliable.

How to Fix a Golf Slice with a Tee

Here's what you need to do to fix that slice once and for all - and the HyLaunch Hybrid is going to help you.

Let's take it to the top and watch this tee.

Notice how I'm starting to point that tee more behind me, in fact and pointing it more the camera you're watching me from.

What that's doing is building a stronger clubface relationship and it's getting the weight of the club behind me.

When it's behind me, my body wants to rotate.

The beauty of this is the club head orbits inside out so you don't have to artificially try to swing inside out.

So the key to this - let's get to the top. Let's take the tee, let's point the tee behind us. You can see what it does to the face and where it puts the club.

From here if we unwind a little bit, we have a draw built in, and you can kiss your slice goodbye once and for all.

Get organized, go to the top pause, feel that move a couple of times. When you've got that down, you can enjoy that beautiful non-slicey baby draw.

What is a golf slice?

A golf slice is a shot that starts to the right of the target (for right-handed players) and then curves further right. This is caused by an out-to-in swing path and an open clubface at impact.

Can this drill be used for other types of golf shots?

Yes, this drill can be used to improve other types of shots as well, such as hooks or pull shots. It's a great way to focus on your swing path and clubface position at impact.

Can this drill be used for both right and left-handed players?

Yes, this drill can be used for both right and left-handed players. The concept is the same, but the tee will be placed on the opposite gloved hand for left-handed players.
